Current Season Results

The 2014 season wrapped up Saturday November 15th.  The 2014 team ended the season with an overall record of 15-12 and 11-11 in the MIAA.  The Hornets were lead by their three seniors,  Katie Deutchmann, Courtney Haring, and Carly Spicer.

Carly Spicer is fifth in the MIAA at 3.66 kills per set.  She has at least ten kills 19 of 25 matches this season and has recorded double-doubles in 16 matches in her first year playing the full rotation. She had her first career 20-20 match with a career high 22 kills to go with 24 digs in four sets at Central Oklahoma. She had a career high 25 digs to go with 17 kills and three blocks at Pittsburg State. She has failed to reach double figures in either kills or digs in just two matches this season.
Courtney Haring is averaging 1.15 blocks per set to rank fourth in the MIAA. She is the Emporia State record holder in block assists with 411 and her 503 total blocks are second all-time for the Hornets. Tammy Cox holds the Emporia State career total blocks record with 612 from 1989-92. She is also averaging 2.18 kills per set on a team best .278 hitting percentage. She had a career high 17 kills to go with eight blocks against Pittsburg State. She had 11 kills and nine blocks, with four of them solo, in the Hornets win at Central Missouri.  Deutmann also had a huge impact on the 2014 season with a season high 17 kills against Fort Hays October 14th. The seniors will be missed.

Overall record 18-11 and 9-7 in the MIAA. The Hornets ended their season in Edmond Oklahoma losing in the first round of the MIAA Tournament.

Overall record 20-12 and 9-8 in the MIAA.  The Horents ended their season in Kearney, Nebraska losing in the second round of the MIAA tournament.

Overall record  21-10 and 13-5 in the MIAA.  The Hornets ended their season with a lose to Washburn in five sets that sealed their fate of not making it to the Regional Tournament

Overall record 23-10 and 13-7 in the MIAA.  THe Hornets ended their season with a lose to Central Missouri in regionals.

Overall record  34-4 and 18-2 in the MIAA.  The Hornets were Conference Champs.  The Hornets season ended with a lose to #8 Truman in the finals of Regionals.

Past Results

Carly Spicer was named All-MIAA 1st team and Courtney Haring was named All-MIAA 2nd team.  Katie Deutchmann, Sydney Hartman, Kimberly Bell, Josie Williams, and Shayla Cotman were named All-MIAA Honorable mention.
