ESU Hornet Volleyball

2014 Season Recap:

Hornets ran a two setter system this year.  With sophomore setter, Kimberly Bell, and junior, Sydney Hartman. Bell averaged 6.08 assists per set and Hartman added 4.21.   The outside hitters for the Hornets were sophomore, Josie WIlliams, and senior, Carly Spicer. Spicer lead the teams in kills per set will 3.66 kills, which ranked fifth in the conference.  Williams had the second highest on the team with 2.44 kills per set.  Right side hitters were either juniors, Torrie Rupe or Clair Simmons and senior, Katie Deutchmann. Deutchmann averaged 1.77 kills per set. The middle blockers for the team were sophomore, Shayla Cotman and senior, Courtney Haring.  Harinng lead the Hornets in blocks with 1.20 blocks per set, which ranked fourth in the conference and Cotman added 0.86 blocks for the Hornets. Both middles also lead the way in hitting percentage for the team this year..  The libero for the Hornets was sophomore, Kelly Holden.  She averaged 4.55 digs per set.  Spicer was second in dig per set with 3.84. Overall, the 2014 Hornets had a decent year finishing just above .500 on the season.
